The popular game "Undertale", released in 2015 by Toby Fox, has been selected to be made into a movie. Creator Toby Fox said, "You can do it as long as you keep it true to the game and make it live action. Otherwise, I'm cool with it." Fox had one other requirement for the movie. "If you do this, than I want to act out Flowey the Flower." For those who are not familiar with the game, Flowey is an evil flower who is one of the game's antagonist.
The director for this soon-to-be movie is Alfonso Cuarón who directed "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban". Cuarón has agreed to all of Fox's terms and is excid=ted to start casting.
Casting is unclear at the moment, but there are a few certainties. Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson, who worked together in the Marvel Franchise, will be voicing characters Sans and Undyne respectively.
Some may wonder how they will show most of the Undertale characters in a live action movie. Well, Cuarón has said that the entire movie will be mostly CGI expect for some sets, props, and characters such as Frisk.
The battle setup will be very interesting as well. If you know Undertale, then you know that the battles are one way. In the movie, they plan to make the battles not set in the special battle screen, but in the actual location where you meet the characters in the game.
Fox has said that the movie may be released on August 24, 2021, if there are no setbacks or delays. So Undertale fans, keep your eyes and ears posted for more news!
