Pringles is an American brand of potato and wheat-based stackable snack crisps. They were ranked second in the UK’s favourite crisps however a major scandal has since hit this well-loved crisp brand. In Pringles acrylamide, a cancer-causing and potentially neurotoxic chemical, has been traced in many Pringles cans.
Tesco, a British multinational groceries and general merchandise retailer, has found many Pringle cans opened with traces of this chemical added into these cans. They have issued a report stating, “Pringles which have been opened have been found to have traces of acrylamide however this should not cause concern. We have found that customers should continue to buy Pringles as normal but should always ensure that the can has not previously been opened and the seal has not been burst. This will ensure the safety of our customers.”
Tesco have also released the following statement; “Anybody who believes this article is an absolute wally!”
