The National Lottery sweep stake has paid out the highest amount up to date to a Free state man temporally living in Port Elizabeth. Gerhardt Nel originally from Bloemfontein has won 65 million Rand by only spending five rand on a Sweep stake ticket which was bought from a retail store in Patensie. Mr Nel said that he initially thought it was a hoax ticket but was later confirmed by the SA Lottery services.
