Today (November 15, 2017), the huge telecommunications company, Sprint, based in the US, outsourced some of its customer care operations to Manila, Philippines, at a company called XServ Telemarketing. 60,000 people are employed at 3 huge call centers based in the Philippines that make outbound telemarketing and sales calls to customers at 2 centers, but 1 center took inbound calls for technical assistance and customer care. At 6:30 AM Manila time, a group of 20 workers at XServ thought it would be cool to cancel 3.9 MILLION accounts. Sprint has tried to recover the accounts but 3.9 million US telecommunication customers are left with dead accounts. One of the 20 workers, Enrique Saran, said "he was having fun". XServ has fired all workers and apologized to Sprint.
