SANTA ANA -
A manhunt is underway for a suspect who robbed a bank in Santa Ana on Friday.
Investigators say the brazen robbery happened around 5:45 p.m. at the Chase Bank on South Broadway.
According to Santa Ana police, a woman, between 5'0” and 5'2”, walked into the bank wearing a dark-colored shirt with the words "IT'S FRI-YAY" printed across the front. She calmly walked up to the teller with a large Bury bag and said ""Fill this with cash now or I'm going to stab you". The teller handed over an unknown amount of cash, and the suspect then fled the scene in a black sedan. It is unknown what direction the suspect fled.
The area around the bank was cordoned off with police tape as investigators could be seen inside and out gathering evidence. Police say they are working with the FBI to crack this difficult case. Authorities have dubbed her "The Mochi-Fingers Bandit" because in all 12 robberies she has been known to cover her fingers with thick layers of mochi residue and flour leaving authorities stumped and unable to lift even a partial fingerprint. "She"s a criminal mastermind.. I've never seen anything like this before and it's frustrating as hell." said police chief Albert Bell.
A reward is being offered. If you have any information about Mochi-Fingers please contact Authorities.
