Snap Inc. had announced that it will be deleting all of the major filters on Snapchat, which have existed since 2015. The creator of Snapchat and co-founder of Snap Inc. Evan Spiegel publicly shared on the public media on November 8, 2017, that he will not only be removing the face filters, but also some of Snapchat's unique features, the speed filter, time filters, date/altitude filters, etc. The reasoning was that "no one has the rights to get bullied of their face worsening because of face filters". For other filters, he said that deleting filters will prevent unnecessary accidents, like a car crash. This was based on a real accident, when a young driver made a fatal car crash after trying to apply a speed filter while driving.
Snapchat announced that it will also be deleting all of its Geofilters features, which was different based on where the snapchatter was in location.
