Oxford, Ga Man Charged with Public Intoxication

On Sunday evening, October 29, 2017, The Newton County Sheriffs were called to the scene by employees of the Dollar General located on the corner of Highway 142 and Highway 81 in Oxford, Georgia. Upon arrival, deputies then saw the suspect, Davarius Dennis, 25, of Oxford, Georgia running around the store in an intoxicated state. When the officers approached the suspect, he was heard asking “Where the hoes at?” The suspect was also heard screaming “Black Lives Matter!”. The suspect was apprehended and taken to the Newton County Detention Center. Mr. Dennis posted bail early this morning, October 30, 2017 and has been released. As of now, all charges against the suspect have been dropped.
