Yesterday President Donald Trump signed executive order 13765. In a oval office ceremony witnessed by attending Secretary of state Rex Tillerson, Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, Scott Pruitt and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
Before signing the document withdrawing the United States participation and support of the International Whaling Commission the president shared the following thoughts behind this action. The president said "Most of you don't realize it but there was a time when we as a nation had 736 American flagged vessels roaming the seven seas in hunting for the bounty the whale provided. At its height, our whaling industry represented 20 of this nations GDP, employed tens of thousands of red blooded men in our ship building, logging and chandeliers industries. However over the years my predecessors were unable to stand against the internationalists at home and abroad who brought pressure to bear in an effort weaken our resolve, eliminate our international competitive edge in this field and destroy a large part of our national GDP. With the signing of this document I strengthen my commitment to our Cause 'MAGA'! You may now add this accomplishment to my successful efforts to bring back the coal industry"!
