Washington DC: In a surprising and unprecedented turn of events, President Donald J. Trump is expected to take the podium and announce that he will be stepping down from his position as U.S. President sometime this afternoon. Political experts expect that Vice President Mike Pence will take over the POTUS position, which will likely occur by the end of the year.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders is said to have accidentally leaked the information during a meeting, according to sources.
A recording of Sanders' comments elicited audible gasps from both the Senate and House floors yesterday, indicating that this groundbreaking move is one of absolute secrecy and surprise.
"This is happening. This is definitely happening," said Republican aide Jeremy Crisp. "Half of America will rejoice while the other half will plead with (the President) not to leave."
Sources speculate that Trump's decision to step down was fueled by "a calling by a higher power to bestow paper towels upon hurricane flood victims in Puerto Rico.
"He knows they've got to absorb all that big water," said the source. "That ocean water. He's already working with Bounty paper towels to create a rescue organization called "Big Bounty for Big Water."
This effort will be added to his current plan, "Big Wall for Big Problem."
This is a breaking story. Stay tuned for further updates.
