Chad Magee, a locally renowned welder from Wheat Field, Mississippi, recently received recognition for his excellence in welding aluminum. Faced with not being able to make a weekend trip to Red Bluff after running his boat over a log and ripping more than half the bottom off the boat, he was able to repair it late last Friday by using Reynold's Aluminum Foil and Coors Light 12 ounce beer cans. Welding foremen from nearby shipbuilding yards were amazed at his ingenuity and expertise, and awarded him top honors in the annual welding competition. This year's prize included a case of Coors Light stovepipes, which Magee assured everyone he would need for his next boat repair.
