In a shocking move, the New York Giants have confirmed plans to trade Eli Manning to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for the rights to negotiate a new contract with Johnny Manziel. Giants General Manager, John Reese, said "We wish Eli all the best in Cleveland. We will retain nothing but fond memories of his leadership and classiness here in New York."
Giants owners, John Mara and Steve Tisch in a joint press release added, "We have met with Johnny on several occasions, and we are 100 confident that he has turned his personal situation around." Manziel played two seasons with the Cleveland Browns before being dropped form the team for off-field behavioral issues and violations. Manziel was drafted by by the Browns in 2014 as the 22nd overall pick.
Manziel said, "Dude I am so pumped to join the Giants as the new starting quarterback! Time to party! Just kidding. I've totally cleaned up my act, and my parole officer will be with me every step of the way. "
