President Donald Trump, in an early morning tweet, announced a sweeping ban on books written by Colorado author Kelly Cheek. "Kelly Cheek is a very very bad writer," Trump tweeted. "All he does is say stuff. There aren't even any pictures. Sad."
Kelly Cheek is known for his historical novels often set in Colorado. Mr. Trump, however, has no use for history. "I'm a forward looking guy," he continued. "History is old and dusty. We can't learn anything from the past. The future is where it's at."
Asked about the President's intentions concerning the author's work, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said, "Instead, I want to read a letter from 8-year-old Hamilton Burger, whose friends call him Relish."
In a later tweet, the President finally revealed his intentions. "I'm going to sign an Executive Order banning these books. The American people shouldn't have to read this garbage."
Kelly Cheek, author of All We Hold Dear, Trial by Fire, and JackSimile and the Phantom Fury, could not be reached for comment. As of press time, his books were still available at Amazon.com.
