The new Trader Joe’s store may move into the new Lake Lorraine development on Marion Road in Sioux Falls. Trader Joe’s hasn’t confirmed an exact location yet but looking at Summer of 2018, said Alison Mochizukie, spokeswoman for Trader Joes.
The grocer did, however, apply for a permit from the county, a site plan has not yet been submitted, said Scot Anderson, planning and zoning director, but he expect that will come within the next few weeks.
“We are becoming a prime location for new businesses and expanding businesses,” said Barth. “I am confident with TJs, we will see additional retail and restaurants in eastern and western Sioux Falls.”
Trader Joe's is known for its wide variety of products and low prices and touts itself as a "neighborhood grocery store with amazing food and drink from around the globe and around the corner," according to its website. It was ranked by Market Force as a fan favorite for its "courteous cashiers," according to a national survey of more than 12,700 shoppers. The grocer ranked just behind Publix and New York-based Wegman's. In past years, Trader Joe's was ranked No. 1 overall but was recently dethroned by Publix.
