In a press conference Monday, President of Purdue University, Mitch Daniels, expressed his interests on the subject of microchipping the faculty and staff of the University. When asked why he stated that "It would be in all our best interest for the safety of students as well as staff in case of any unforeseen events that could put anyone in harm's way". There will be meetings with the Human Resources department leading up to the final decision, but they expect everything will go accordingly as per staff and faculty to comply. There will be expectations that some will not wish to have the microchip, in which case the University is willing to hire new employees that are willing to be part of a more progressive employer and society.
