Gov. Deal Calls National Guard for Road Widening Fight

Georgia Governor Nathan Deal declared a state of emergency for a small portion of northwest Georgia tonight. He cited threats to DoT workers, planners, and others by residents upset over the widening of a medium duty road in Whitfield County. As part of this declaration, he has authorized state militias to use "all means necessary" to secure land needed for the storage of state equipment and securing areas of the road for the needed work. Multiple ranks of helicopter based security forces were immediately dispatched and columns of tanks being transported appeared to be headed to the area.

Local militia leader Jedidiah Higglebottom stated that he expected this fight to "be about like 'at one in Texas nar Waco a few years back." He has promised plenty of moonshine rations, slaw, and hotdogs for the troops.
