Fish and Wildlife agents have caught a Crocodile in Mt. Run Lake in the rural county of Culpeper, Virginia. Sources have confirmed that a dog was killed in a gruesome attack while the dog and owner were paddle boarding. The owner made it to shore and contacted help. After a week of attempting to locate the crocodile, they finally caught it using a stray dog as bait. It measured just shy of 14ft. So it was likely a pet someone dumped into the lake in the last 5 years. We questioned the wildlife agents and asked how it survived the cold. They guessed it likely buried itself in the 4-5 ft of goose poop and mud to stay warm during the winter. No harm was inflicted to the crocodile and it was safely rescued and transferred to the nearby Lake Pelham, which is bigger and offers more food for the animal. Hopefully allowing it to not attack pets.
