Property values in midtown Tulsa are subject to big changes in the future. A statement released Monday by city officials stated big issues with the cities sewer system have become apparent. In 1964 when Jack C. Goodman, civil engineer for Tulsa at the time, designed the sewer system for the said area he had no idea of how much growth Tulsa would see in the upcoming years. Now with immigration at its peak and large capacity toilets flushing almost non-stop has overwhelmed the system and causing major backups at the treatment facility. The proposed plan is to completely remove the existing sewer system from Yale all the way east to Memorial and from 18th st to 26th st. Homeowners are in an uproar over the proposed plan saying "it will crush property value in our area".
A meeting scheduled for July 26th will give homeowners an opportunity to speak out and have their voices heard. I
