STRASBURG, Pa- Authorities say a Strasburg man has been dooped by a fake news story he read on The social media website, Facebook.com.
Lenny Weitzel has been taken into custody early this evening on charges stemming from the July 17th incident of believing everything he reads.
"In a world where fact-checking is easier than ever, we are surprised that stories like this continue to thrive and people continue to fall for them", said Sheriff Buford T. Justice of Texas.
Weitzel is being brought up on a slew of charges, which include gullibility , facilitating false statements, and moronism, all which carry a maximum sentence of life in ridicule.
"We would expect this sort of behavior from the general public, but not a public servant such as Mr.Weitzel. We are all profoundly disappointed and give his family our condolences," said Justice.
This is not the first time Weitzel has stepped into the spotlight of idiocracy. A recent camping trip had by Weitzel shows his track record of moronism and is likely to be a repeat offender.
More information will be available as this story develops.
