The historic pub, in Sowerby Bridge has been sold secretly by the owners to a Manchester company despite there being a community venture underway to purchase the premises.
The Puzzle Hall Inn has been a hub for odd balls, geeks, musicians and CAMRA types since the early middle ages but is now set to be turned into a premier burlesque/strip club venue.
A spokesman for the Manchester based purchases Tonight is That Special LTD (TITS) said ‘We are looking forward to breathing a new lease if life into the old gal. We understand the reservations of some of the old clientele but want to assure everyone that this new look pub will cater for all tastes and we look forward to offering hospitality to many customers, old and new’.
