Why in the world would the makers of Crown Royal Whiskey take the time to sponsor a tiny annual Lake George Indiana/Michigan event known as Big Al's Lakeside Funfest (BALF)? There are essentially 15 men near the age of 50 at the core of this get-together, but Crown took special interest with this event. But why? So we asked Pierre McDoogle, spokesman for Crown, why they felt BALF was so special. Pierre said, "The Crown image is that it is a premium liquor for friends to enjoy sipping in a social setting. We accidentally found on the internet that the members of BALF enjoyed Crown and even honored a friend each year with a Crown racing jacket. These BALFers are spread around 7-8 states so they have a broad geographical reach. Also, the attendees proudly proclaim their dedication to Crown on their Facebook page. This is exactly the sort of ground-level word-of-mouth advertising that we want to encourage."
