Governor Dayton signed several bills into law on April 2, 2017 implementing the recommendations of the Task Force on the Implementation of Amendment 64. On March 9, 2017, the Minnesota Department of Revenue adopted final regulations for recreational marijuana establishments, implementing the Minnesota Retail Marijuana Code. On March 16, 2017, the Minneapolis City Council adopted an ordinance for retail marijuana establishments. The state is prepared for an influx of tourists with extra police officers posted in Minneapolis.
