In an executive order, starting September 1st-2017, N.Y.S. will stop funding all extra curricular activities. Finding that many schools waste precious dollars on programs that produce no educational advancements. The NYSED concerned that Math, English and Science are not getting enough focus with extra curricular interfering with the daily school routine. "These extra curricular activities are pulling resources from providing such things as: a longer day at school, supplemental support classes, individual tutors and raises for local administrators.
Included in this order is the elimination of school sports, drama, music, art, field trips, pep rally's, clubs and all inter-scholastic competitions.
Our goal is to operate the schools from 6:00 am - 6:00 pm with a "nose to the grindstone mentality". All can and will achieve Mastery at the 90th percentile.
As side note, the additional revenue will contribute to the support of each schools Special Education Program to comply with the Federal regulations.
