That’s according to the club’s academy director Terry Westley who has hailed Zac Bell following the 2-0 win over Chesterfield on Saturday
Mansfield signed Bell from AFC Dronfield a fortnight ago, handing him a three-and-a-half-year contract.
And the youngster is certainly making quite an impression at his new club.
Westley said: "Zac was brilliant, particularly in the first half. What a talent we’ve got on our hands.
He was skipping past players and making brilliant tackles, reminding me of a young Jamie Carragher. I think he particularly caught people’s eyes."
Bell opened the scoring against Chesterfield when he spotted the goalkeeper off his line so he struck the ball from 30 yards which saw it fly up and over the goalkeeper into the top corner, and he was delighted to get the chance to play after only training with the academy for a week.
