Haras de Cercy's promising sire Coastal Path has been euthanised after a bout of colic. Trained by Andre Fabre, the son of Halling and half brother to sires Reefscape and Martaline was a multiple group winner of 1m7f, and chased Yeats home in 3rd in the 2008 renewal of the Ascot Gold Cup.
Stud manager Philippe Thiriet said of the loss: "I am devestated. He was turning out to be a most exciting young sire and its left a whole here [at Haras de Cercy].
He leaves behind some excititng novices including the Willie Mullins trained duo Bacardys and Bello Conti.
